SUSPENDED ACCOUNTS A few players have had their accounts temporarily suspended for making unauthorized access to other player's accounts.
I've left the IP addresses unblocked, but if you abuse this by creating new accounts to get around the account suspension, then we'll block you and increase the time your accounts are suspended.
I shouldn't have to say this, but having knowledge of a password doesn't necessarily give you authorization to use an account. Also, the fact that an account is a "shared" account does not make it fair game for unauthorized access.
LOST ASSETS No refunds or database rollbacks will occur. I realize that this is not necessarily "fair" given the similar situation several months ago, but we recently posted our policy on this, and I think it was pretty clear that this would be the case.
SHARED ACCOUNTS I hope that everyone now sees the dangers of sharing accounts.
Here's the (not really new) deal:
It is against the Terms of Service agreement to share accounts. The common concern with account-sharing is that sharing access to the account involves players providing their login information (login name and password) to another person. The person receiving this information is then able to do anything they wish with the account, such as obtain asset information, transfer assets or funds, use the account in conjunction with hack programs, etc.
Subscriber's account and right to use Terracorps services and system is not transferable without Terracorps consent. Subscriber agrees to protect its password, software ID, and account and to keep them secure from unauthorized users and use.
The owner of the account will be held accountable for all login uses, regardless of whether or not the owner granted authorization or approval.
In the event that you become aware of or reasonable suspect any breach of security, including but not limited to any loss, theft, or unauthorized disclosure of your login information, please immediately notify us by sending an email to customerservice@terracorps.com. So you need to start treating your account information with a bit more respect.
The Terms of Service agreement will be updated to reflect the above.
